Chiropractors are concerned with the framework of bones and muscles that support the body (the ‘musculoskeletal system’).
Some problems of the musculoskeletal system can be caused by accidents, stress, lack of exercise, poor posture, illness and everyday wear and tear. These problems may cause pressure on the nerves in the body.
Depending on your condition, your chiropractor may manipulate parts of your spine, or joints, in addition to giving you advice on exercise, self-help, diet and lifestyle. You will also be offered advice on a rehabilitation programme. Resulting in an holistic approach to injury management.
Manipulation involves precisely handling, or moving joints, or parts of the spine, sometimes moving them beyond their normal limits, to improve their range of motion.
Feel free to ask your Chiropractor any questions that may crop up. They will be happy to answer, and explain anything to you. It is important that you feel at ease during your consultation. Likewise, if you would prefer someone to be with you during your consultation, we are happy for you to bring a companion along. In fact, we recommend this for your first visit.
